How to stay in shape over 50
Once I turned 40 things started to change. I would see little changes every now and again and then once 45 hit I started to see these changes more frequently. I remember laughing at my husband when he would say he couldn't read something but I still could (I'm 7 years younger than him) WELL now it isn't funny at all!! I now need reading glasses to see a book (which isn't fun when you are out in the sun and still need sun glasses as well). I can no longer thread a needle.
Empty Nesters!
I wonder how many people are actually looking forward to be "Empty Nesters"? I hear a lot about how marriages break up once the kids are gone or how parents aren't sure what they should do now that the kids are gone and I'm like WHAT???.. I guess if you live your life for your children you might feel like that but we have always lived our lives WITH our children not for them. What I mean is we never put our children above anyone else in the family. I guess this is a choice or maybe really it's how I was raised...
The support you need
I found after I had my 3rd child that I WANTED help losing the weight I had gained over the past 7 years of marriage and babies so I joined Weight Watchers and LOVED IT!! I also realized something during that journey.....I NEED SUPPORT outside of the home. I would be doing great and then decide to save money (because I knew the process and could do it on my own at home) and before long I would start to plateau and in some cases even gain weight! I would then go back to the meetings and within a week I would see
Meet Alicia
I have stuggled with my weight all my life....Well at least I have felt like I have. Watching old family videos I have come to see I really wasn't as "large" as everyone always made me feel. You see my little sister has always been a tiny little thang! , and I was always compared to her. Around the time I hit Jr High (Can you tell my age!) I realized that I had gained quite a bit of weight. By the time I was a Junior in High School I had finally lost A LOT of weight. I really do not know how much I weighed when I was younger but by the time I got married at age 21 I was 113 LBS. and in MUCH smaller clothes.
